There is a certain beauty in absolute statements. Every rule has exceptions, every statement has caveats and taking an absolute statement literally is usually a bad move. Every situation has nuance and absolutes are the antithesis of nuance.
But, in place of nuance, we get glorious subjectivity, we get something personal and intimate, we get something that each person can interpret for themselves. The key is a common understanding that absolutes are not really absolute. They exist to give direction, guidance.
I will now list a few of my favorite absolute statements. No nuance or caveats will be given, that is for you to decide.
Statement
Everything that happens to you is your fault
Statement
The poor are allowed to cheat
Statement
Nothing is sacred
Statement
When making a decision, ignorance is preferrable to shallow knowledge
Statement
Indifference is a virtue
